I spent a day there for a seminar organized by EFEDRE Ministry of Finance. The meeting hall was comfortable, and lunch came with a good buffet and refreshments. I’d strongly recommend the place for meetings.

I spent almost a month here and would return if I’m back in Addis Ababa. The location on the city’s hilly side gives you an incredible view, and getting to different parts of town was easy. The price was surprisingly reasonable compared with the other places I looked at. Staff from reception and security to the cleaning crew were kind and professional. Breakfast was good, and the WiFi worked well enough for me to work.

The bedroom is modern and comfortable, and breakfast was good, especially the fresh, tasty juice. The bathroom had an unpleasant smell, possibly from a poor sewage connection. TV reception was also bad. We asked reception several times to fix it, but nothing changed. I hope they improve these issues.

The city view from Ras Amba Hotel is incredible, and the hotel sits in a lovely, easy-to-reach part of Addis Ababa. It’s also considered one of the country’s oldest hotels. I stayed in the newer building behind the old one, but the room didn’t feel worth the price. There wasn’t enough drinking water, just small 350 ml bottles, and the bed wasn’t very comfortable. The service and rooms don’t meet modern standards.

We stayed in the older building. There’s no elevator, which makes getting to the upper floors difficult, especially for older people and anyone with a disability. The food was good, and we tried the fasting dishes. The hotel’s location is good, and the terrace has a great view over Addis Ababa.
