There are much better places in town for less money. This was one of the worst hotels on our Ethiopian journey, if not the worst. The room was dirty, the toilet wouldn't flush, and the shower only dripped, so we couldn't shower. Breakfast was just scrambled egg and two pieces of bread, with no cutlery given to us. We waited 20 minutes for the coffee. The whole place felt like a letdown, and I really can't explain it.

The compound is lovely and green, and we stayed here for a few nights after attending an amazing wedding at the location. Service was good, the staff were friendly, and breakfast was good too. Unfortunately, the shower was cold.

I love Abay Minch Lodge. The grounds are full of greenery and natural forest, the rooms are lovely, and they let us check in as early as 9 AM.

It was a nice place to stay. The Wi-Fi was supposed to reach the rooms, but I wish it actually did. We ran into this issue throughout our time in Ethiopia 🇪🇹.

I love reading books or writing articles here. It's a wonderful lodge if you like hearing birds around Lake Tana and want a quiet place to stay.
