Florida International Hotel

I felt unsafe here as a teenage girl on a school trip. Workers tried to come into our rooms while we were inside, and others tried to touch us. There was mold on the walls and hair on the floors. The sixth floor had no rooms and was a mess, with no barrier to keep people out; the basement was also left open. The hotel felt creepy in general. I wouldn’t recommend it to young people or women.

The staff were open to feedback and asked if anything needed changing. WiFi worked well enough for me, perhaps because the city finally got 4G service. The pool wasn’t filled because of a water shortage in the city. I enjoyed my stay. The rooms were spacious, the beds comfortable, and the price fair. The breakfast was okay, and the friendly chef even made something I wanted that wasn’t on the menu. They picked me up from the airport and dropped me off for free, while almost every other hotel charges for that. I’d definitely recommend this hotel!

The staff were very hospitable, and my room was good with proper sanitation, though your room might be different. WiFi was my main problem: it was so slow that most of the time I couldn’t use it. Tuktuks and trucks made a lot of noise passing during the day, and the nightclub across the street played loud music until midnight. You may get used to it the longer you stay. If you want better service, wear a travel advisor T-shirt.

The food was good, even though when we asked for some breakfast and dinner items they said they didn’t have them, including meat or eggs. Staff were helpful sometimes, and it’s an okay hotel, but it needs work. The pool was murky and dirty, with bits of sticks and leaves in it. The electricity was out on our floor for a long time while other floors had power. The lift didn’t work, there were hardly any plugs in the rooms, so the TV was pointless, and some corridor lights didn’t work. The lamps in our room were broken too. But it’s okay.
