It felt simple and close to nature, with no crowds or noise, just peaceful surroundings. A good spot to get away for a while and experience Finnish nature.

The café is open until 3 pm in winter. On the lake, we went skating on the cleared track, and kick sleds were available to use for exercise too. There's a hut by the shore where you can light a fire and barbecue.

There's a log-frame church in the courtyard, built in 1999, with a stunning lake view behind the altar. It seats about 180. Ähtäri Animal Park is 20 minutes away, and Seinäjoki and Jyväskylä are about an hour's drive. Breakfast comes with the price, and the lunch is tasty and reasonably priced, though it isn't always available in the quieter winter months. There's also a small canteen in the lobby and a lakeside sauna, with open-air swimming possible in winter. The camping center is in a great nature setting, with lots of camps, and everyone is welcome. There are plenty of activities, including boating, fishing, campfire spots, Frisbee golf, and even a football field.

There was plenty for both children and adults to do, and going out on the boats was fun. The accommodation was lovely and peaceful, and the beach and beer are clean and well maintained 😃😄
