The service was the highlight for us, both at reception and in the restaurant, and the fish dishes are worth trying. We only stayed one short night, so we didn't get to experience the adventures on offer, though there seems to be plenty to do. The rooms are small and really just for sleeping, and the dated look and star rating don't matter much given the excellent location. There's a nice beach with separate saunas for men and women, plus a small dock for a midnight swim in Kilpisjärvi. Being able to bring pets is a huge plus.

Laura at the front desk was so welcoming and friendly, and knew a lot about the area. The outside looks dated and a bit uninviting, but don't let that put you off. After several days camping, we were glad to have a clean room, a comfortable bed, and a good shower. The rooms are simple but suited us well. The hotel sits by the lake, with woodland trails for a walk after dinner. Dinner was one of the best I've had: reindeer prepared two ways, with a sophistication I hadn't expected. We had a wonderful stay.

I left yesterday and already miss the place. The rooms are retro and basic, which suits me and the Lapland surroundings just fine. Across the main road there's a lovely walk with views of Saana and the wilderness, and you're quite likely to see reindeer there. A semi-tame reindeer also likes to hang around the hotel. I'll be back; it's a good stopover for Finnish, Swedish, and Norwegian Lapland, and close to the boat trip to the three-country border post.

Breakfast was good, but the rooms really need renovating soon. They don't measure up to other Lapland hotels.

The staff were really friendly and polite, and breakfast was very good. The hotel has a beautiful view and a great location, with a shop right across the street. The sauna by the shore was so good, and you can go for a swim there.
