Haminan Seurahuone

The room was clean and spacious, but a strong sewer smell greeted us when we opened the door. Breakfast was left in the room fridge the day before. I missed having a traditional hotel breakfast, since you can have bread rolls and coffee at home too.

The breakfast is brought to your room in the evening for the next morning, and there’s enough to have some for dinner too. It’s okay, but expensive for this kind of hotel in Finland. I recommend the spa hotel a five-minute walk away. It costs the same, and you can use its excellent spa center for free.

The location was good, and the reception staff were friendly. Breakfast was delivered to the room the night before and was good. The room was a decent size, with a fridge and facilities for making coffee and tea. But the hotel needs a thorough renovation. The room and hallway smelled musty, perhaps from smoke or dampness that had built up over time. The room hadn’t been cleaned properly, and the TV was tiny. Reception was in the basement beside the pub, and the rooms were accessed with a key.

A hassle-free stay in a hotel with large rooms and nice staff. Breakfast was good and brought to the room. The location is great, and the old valuable buildings and atmosphere make this a very good choice for people who appreciate them.
