Aikatalo Hostel Helsinki

A good bed and somewhere quiet to rest are what matter to me as a traveler, so the word hostel doesn't bother me. The place felt secure, with password entry at both the front door and the elevator. That could be a bit of a nuisance if you're in a hurry, though. Sleeping well in a clean environment really matters.

We nearly let the word "hostel" put us off, but I'm glad we stayed. The owners were kind and professional, and made things comfortable. The place is very clean, and I got the best night's sleep. Bathrooms are individual lockable toilets and showers in shared areas, rather than big communal rooms. Private rooms use swipe keys. There's a shared fridge, tea and coffee supplies, and good drinking water, as you'd expect in Finland. The showers have great pressure, and every toilet has a bidet. Our room had large windows and plenty of daylight, with both curtains and blinds. The location is convenient and set back from the street, up a few floors, so you aren't in view when you come in. As a young woman traveling, that felt reassuring. It's close to everything we needed in Helsinki. Would stay again, kiitos! 💖

A really pleasant hostel, with a fairly spacious room. The price is great for Finland!

The host/front desk woman was warm and friendly. The bathroom and toilet were clean, and towels were supplied. There's self-service tea and coffee, and for the location, the price is good compared with hotels. Just let them know if you're arriving late or heading out early.
