There’s plenty of storage in the closets, and the kitchen is well equipped with bowls, plates, utensils, scissors, pots, knives, a coffee maker, and a tea kettle. Beds were ready when we arrived and comfortable, with one large towel and one hand towel per guest. Cleaning before and after is included, so it seems guests don’t have to vacuum at checkout. The location is fantastic, with the metro, bus terminal, and Kamppi mall services right there. But the room gets hot in summer even when it’s under 20 Celsius outside, and there’s no air conditioning. With the window open, the seagulls are very loud, though that’s normal Helsinki wildlife. The English rules are vague and confusing. It’s not normal for Finnish apartment buildings to ban showers after 10 pm, since that’s an ordinary living sound and some people work night shifts. We also saw mold growing beside the bathroom sink. The pillows were alright, cheap IKEA cotton ones. Citykoti doesn’t provide toilet paper, paper towels, or extra garbage bags, so you have to buy them yourself. There’s only a bin in the kitchen cabinet, which is inconvenient. Another bin in the bathroom would help.

The location is great, and the apartment is cute and nice for two people. It was a little dirty, though.

We arrived to a foul smell from both the bathroom and kitchen, and dust covered the apartment. The worst part was finding a used plaster beside the bed. It was unhygienic and disgusting. The bunk bed staircase also felt insecure and unsafe, so we couldn’t use the sleeping arrangements as intended. The apartment’s condition was far below an acceptable standard. We had to leave and book hotel rooms nearby at the last minute. Citykoti still refuses to reimburse the apartment, which also shows a lack of service and customer satisfaction.

The kids especially loved sleeping in the giant bunk bed. We got a good price, and the location was excellent: we could walk everywhere, and the trams made it easy to get around. It was warm, and the washing machine didn’t work properly. On the last day it wouldn’t spin, so I had to dry very wet clothes in a hurry. I travelled solo with two kids and would still recommend the apartment. Helsinki is really expensive for people from other parts of Europe, and we found the cost a bit prohibitive. It’s a great place, though. Thanks!

It’s a seriously small, sparse studio, though it has the essentials. If you’re mostly using the room to sleep, it’s perfect. The location was great, just a short tram ride from downtown, the train station, and most tourist attractions. Grocery stores and the metro line are close too.
