Radisson RED Helsinki

The staff were especially supportive while we were dealing with lost luggage. They were friendly, kind and personable, which made a stressful situation easier, and when our bags finally arrived they gave us a thoughtful little care package. The hotel has a lovely inclusive feel, the restaurant food was fabulous, and our room was clean and comfortable. What stayed with me most was how warmly the staff looked after us. We’d happily stay again.

I felt at home here and would happily stay again on another Helsinki visit. The hotel is new, modern, clean, and affordable, with well-sized rooms and a location close to central Helsinki that makes it good value, in my opinion. Even arriving in the middle of the night, Simon welcomed me warmly and was genuinely helpful and friendly. Lotta also made a slightly early check-in possible after I’d spent a tiring day around the city. Great staff and a really good atmosphere.

The rooms were fairly quiet, and from the upper floors there was a decent view over the rooftops. The location is excellent, and the staff at reception were polite and very helpful. It’s a modern hotel with good service and a broad breakfast spread, enough to leave you full. It’s fairly plain rather than luxurious, and I did miss freshly brewed coffee and table service for a cappuccino, though that fits the general service level here.

The hotel restaurant surprised me. I usually avoid eating at hotel restaurants, but the food was really good, especially the steak and the red wine they served, Montepulciano, maybe? It’s right by the Botanic Garden and on the University of Helsinki campus, just a short walk from the main railway station, National Theater, Ateneum Museum of Art, Kiasma Museum, and the famous Library. I’d give it five stars if water had been available.
