Iin Sillat Motel

The E8 traffic can be loud, though we barely noticed it from our caravan spot near the entrance. I can imagine the noise might be harder to deal with in the cottages or tents. Even so, we’d happily stay here again and recommend it to fellow travellers. We spent one night here in our caravan in late June, and the clean, modern bathrooms really stood out. The summer kitchen was just as tidy, with three sets of essentials including sinks and microwaves, so nobody had to queue to do the dishes before leaving. We booked the electric sauna too, and it was wonderfully clean and modern. The river swimming spot was good, though the current was surprisingly strong. An adult could still reach the sandy bottom throughout, so it didn’t bother us. We loved the sauna, showers and river.

We pitched our tent on the grassy area, and it was nice and quiet. The place felt a bit worn, or maybe maintenance was just a little lazy, and the service was the bare minimum. There’s a small playground for kids. The sanitary rooms were clean, modern and well kept, in the reception building’s far side, by the big tree and facing the playground.

I paid 20€ to stay with my bicycle and small tent, which felt a little expensive. The campsite is right on the E8, but I found a spot near the entrance, furthest from the road, and slept very well. The facilities were clean and included in the price, and there’s a summer kitchen. The staff I met didn’t speak much English, but we managed to work it out.

Generally a nice place, and the toilets were clean. But I wouldn’t choose it for a night in a tent: the busy highway is literally beside the campground, with traffic and big trucks going by through the night. Their website said reception was open 24/7, but it actually closed at 10 pm, even in peak season.
