The food was really tasty, and they use local produce. Staff were warm and welcoming, and the coffee was decent too. It’s a lovely little café and guesthouse a short way from Mariehamn, handy for a break while cycling around. Just check the hours first, since they can be limited a bit outside the season.

The garden and guesthouse are gorgeous, and our room was beautiful with really comfortable beds. We were pleasantly surprised that breakfast and the sauna were included, and we rented bikes for a very affordable price. Everything had been thought through down to the smallest details, and the service was so friendly. We had a lovely stay at Brobacka and would happily come back. 5/5!

The staff were all so friendly and helpful, and Brobacka’s focus on sustainability showed in things like waste sorting and sturdy shopping bags guests could borrow. We also liked the wooden sauna in the yard. You could book it and heat it yourself, and it felt like a very typical Finnish sauna. We used it once. We spent two nights there while exploring Åland by bike. The location worked well for us, and although we got our bikes elsewhere, I noticed Brobacka also offers bicycles to guests, though I’m not sure whether they’re for borrowing or rent. Our room was quiet and comfortable, with adorable decor, and breakfast was delicious. They even had gluten-free options, including gluten-free "Ålands pankaka". I’d describe the place as charming, idyllic, and welcoming. The price felt excellent for what we got. We’d definitely like to stay again and warmly recommend Brobacka.
