The setting by Jyväsjärvi, among the university campuses, was a real surprise in the best way. It was about 20 minutes from the local airport, and my room was comfortable and practical, with a great lake view. I'd definitely pick one with a private sauna next time, it seems worth it. Breakfast was good, as was the hotel restaurant. The reception team stood out too: they were warm and helpful, gave me thorough advice on getting around and local sights, and pointed me to Kissanviisket, a great local restaurant you should try. Jyväskylä also has the Alvar Aalto museum and the Central Finland museum, and the Finnish Air Force Museum is nearby in Tikkakoski.

The lake was right beneath my window, which made the location especially nice. My room was tidy and well furnished, and breakfast offered plenty of choices, including a few vegan ones. The service was polite and professional.

I still remember the view from Hotel Alba. Breakfast by the lake and bridge in the sunshine was calm and relaxing; the buffet was decent, too. The new sauna was a highlight, and I appreciated having bicycles included with the stay. Service was top-notch, both at reception and at dinner. I had a fresh, delicious burger and an Aperol Spritz that was just right. I'd highly recommend Hotel Alba in Jyväskylä, including for couples.
