The room with a sauna was spacious, clean, and nicely decorated, and the hotel itself is beautiful. The door handle was sharp, though, and the bathroom door made a lot of noise. Breakfast was among the best we've ever had, with a great range of fresh products. We stayed here on our wedding night, and the hotel knew about it, so it felt disappointing that nobody acknowledged the occasion. I would've been happy with something small, like a glass of champagne, some chocolate, or even a congratulations. I normally wouldn't expect anything, but I know hotels often do a little something for a special occasion. It wouldn't have cost much and would've meant a lot to us.

The air conditioning was the worst part. It ran loudly all night, couldn't be turned off, and kept going even after we asked several times. The staff mostly ignored us. They said they could stop it if other guests complained too, otherwise there was nothing to do. That was such a lame response, and then they offered us chocolate, as if that would make us shut up. The rooms were in a very old building. Some had been renovated, but most were outdated. Rooms in the mall didn't have windows, while the ones facing the main walking street looked onto bars and restaurants, with drunk people shouting all night. We could even hear the rain and everything from the other rooms. Worst hotel I've ever stayed in.

The location was amazing, the breakfast was the best I've ever had at a hotel, and our room with an ensuite sauna was wonderful. The weekend itself was our wedding weekend, though, and the hotel didn't acknowledge it at all. I mentioned it in the reservation and checked in wearing my wedding dress, with a bouquet in my hands. I spoke to two different receptionists like that, one when we left our bags in the luggage room in the morning and another when we checked in that afternoon. Neither congratulated us. Please check the notes on guests' reservations or ask how their day is going, especially when it's clear they're celebrating. This was possibly the most significant weekend of our lives, and it was really disappointing to have it completely overlooked.

The breakfast had fresh bread, good salads, an omelet chef, and plenty of other choices that made the room feel cosy. It was high quality, though the breakfast room was small and crowded, with lots of people coming just to eat with friends. Hardworking staff kept clearing tables, so there were always seats. Some sound-absorbing material on the walls and ceilings might help with the noise. The rooms were good, the staff excellent, and the location is as central as it gets, with shops, restaurants, and services all close by. For the quality and price, this was definitely my best hotel stay in Jyväskylä. A visit is well worth it. Maybe yöpuu would be a step up, but it's more expensive.
