Wanhat Wehkeet - Myllyjoki Camping

The museum had all kinds of things to look at, though they were packed a bit too tightly together. It was especially crowded when I visited during Audiclub Finlands summer cruise, with about six busloads of people there. The summer theatre was putting on a show at the same time.

The cottage had a sauna, but at 150€ a night it felt far too basic for the price, especially since guests are expected to clean up before leaving. As you’d expect, cleaning left to visitors doesn’t mean the place is really clean. The warm water boiler also made noise in the pipes all night, which would keep a light sleeper awake. I wouldn’t go back. Around 80€ would feel like a fair price for this experience.

Breakfast was excellent, and the staff had put out extra items to meet my dietary requirements. The staff were friendly, and the accommodation was comfortable for my business trip at the hotel.

The cottage was covered in snow, which seems normal there, and was fine for modest accommodation. It had a toilet and sink but no shower. The sauna and shower were in a large shared building. Good value.
