The hosts were so kind, with an extra bit of friendliness.

There’s room for kids to play, and sleds are kept outside. The kitchen is handy too, with tea and coffee, and space to cook and eat. Our room was big enough, and the food at breakfast and dinner was good with a decent variety of dishes. The sauna was nice, and you can sign up for a time at the administrator’s desk. The staff were really nice and did their best to make the stay comfortable. The place felt cozy. The one issue for us was the shower. It wasn’t very convenient, and water ended up everywhere afterward.

What made the stay for me was how much the staff and owners did to make us feel welcome. They told us about the place’s history and went out of their way to help. The hotel has a lovely atmosphere, and with all the snow around it looked beautiful. From our window, it felt like a winter wonderland. I loved the sauna in the little lighthouse at the top of the hotel. You can book it for your room at reception, so it’s private, then head out onto the terrace for the view and winter air. Breakfast tasted good, with enough choice that I think everyone can find something. There’s also a shared kitchen with coffee and tea. We chose the place after seeing the photos and weren’t disappointed. It’s a bit far from the city center, so I’d suggest driving or taking a taxi, especially with larger luggage. Still, that picturesque spot in the middle of Kemi is part of its appeal. I’d definitely come back, maybe in summer to see the difference.

The rooms were tidy and clean, and the staff were really friendly. We thought it was good value for the money. There’s a good selection at the bar, and the sauna is free. Dinner was simple, hamburgers for €15.
