The restaurant surprised me in a good way: the steaks were delicious and cooked perfectly medium. The meal wasn't cheap, but I get that a countryside place has overheads. There's also a well-equipped bar, and a band was playing when we were there. The sound system was good, with plenty of room to dance. We found the spa clean, modern, and renovated, with a nice sauna and an impressive view from the jacuzzi. The setting is beautiful, and you can park right by your room. Some rooms in the main building have small terraces and their own parking spaces. The premises look modern and renovated. I'd read reviews mentioning an old or moldy smell, but we noticed none. The air was good, and our clean room had all the essentials. Service was friendly, and we got all the information we needed. I was really pleasantly surprised by this hotel and highly recommend it.

Our toddler was treated like a VIP, and all the staff were professional, polite, and attentive. We also met the owner, who gave us a warm welcome. Parts of the hotel feel like stepping back to the 1980s, but that wasn't a problem since everything worked perfectly and was spotless. The one real drawback was the heat in our non-renovated room, which had no air-conditioning.

Sad to hear this traditional old Finnish hotel has closed. I've stayed here twice while visiting Finland, and always had a lot of fun with friends. We used to arrive by boat at the pier.

We came on a Wednesday evening for what we hoped would be a nice meal. The main course was good, but once a few more customers arrived, bringing the total to around ten, the staff seemed to forget about us. The people behind us waited more than half an hour just to place an order. We ordered dessert, then eventually gave up and canceled because nobody came back. There wasn't even an apology, just a bill that felt far too high for the food. We bring lots of visitors to keuruu, but we'll never return. That's a shame.
