The villas have panoramic views, lovely design, a private sauna, and an outdoor hot tub, all set in the peaceful Lapland wilderness. It’s a calm, exclusive-feeling place, well away from mass tourism, where it’s easy to relax and feel close to nature. The service is warm and personal. An incredible luxury escape, highly recommended for a perfect five-star stay!

The food gave us a lovely way to finish a very stressful six-hour wait at Janka. We shared three mains and sides between five of us, since our religious beliefs meant we could only choose seafood or vegetarian dishes, and prices were above our budget. The restaurant staff were patient and explained the menu without making us feel awkward. The lobster linguine was incredible, and my family loved the rich bisque too. Everything we tried was delicious. We’d come to Janka for the husky ride on the property, which was great fun, but a mix-up with our travel agent left us waiting there for hours with nowhere to stay. I worried we’d get in the way by spending time in the restaurant. Michelle, who co-owns the resort, simply welcomed us to make ourselves comfortable. She also suggested we walk around, see the swing and wood-fired igloo, and try the snow slope. The igloo was warm and cozy, and the team’s kindness turned a difficult day into special family memories. Michelle and everyone were so welcoming. We were lucky enough to see the northern lights, which was one of the moments from our trip that’s hard to put into words. The husky ride was pure fun, and the snowmobile outings across those wide, quiet snowy stretches were exhilarating. Visiting the reindeer ranch felt authentic too. We spent eight special days at Janka Resort, which had only opened a month before we arrived. The setting is beautiful and peaceful, and the experiences felt genuine. Meals at the restaurant were another highlight, especially the fresh, flavourful fish and seafood. After long days outside, the food felt thoughtful and comforting. For such a new resort, everything felt well cared for: warm service, good attention to detail, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. We left with lasting memories and would love to come back.

That view through the skylight at night, with the Northern Lights moving across the sky, is something I’m already looking forward to seeing again. The place has so much to enjoy, from the friendly staff and animals to the lovely scenery, cozy feel, and range of activities. It manages to feel luxurious and comfortable at once. Mornings begin with snowy views and cross-country skiers passing by. On the way to breakfast you can see reindeer or mountain horses, and after a great meal there are local huskies to cuddle. Later, the hot tub or sauna is there to warm up in. We loved our stay and can’t wait to return.
