Lodge 67°N Lapland

We stayed in a lodge cabin and really liked it. The location is wonderful, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. We also loved the buffet, both breakfast and dinner, with delicious food and some Lappish dishes to choose from. We had a wonderful time, and definitely want to come back. Highly recommend it.

The buffet dinner was quite expensive, though the food was good. We were very disappointed that the sauna in our room didn’t work, especially since it was one of the reasons we picked this hotel and it was already quite expensive. We told reception at checkout, but they acted as if it were normal and didn’t seem apologetic.

The people here are so friendly, and the rooms and views are gorgeous. Go to the lake around midnight and you can see the Northern Lights. Come if you can, you won’t regret it.

For a three-star hotel sauna, I’d give it five stars. It’s hot and clean, smells great, has benches at a good height, low humidity, and a Harvia stove. But in my opinion it doesn’t deliver a true Finnish sauna experience, which would make it a three on that scale. The bucket and ladle are plastic, and the ladle handle is so short you risk getting burned when throwing löyly. The stove is missing a heap of rocks, and the ones there are oversized for the small sauna and heater. There’s no timer or temperature gauge either. Replacing the plastic bucket and ladle and adding a temperature gauge would be easy changes that would improve things a lot. We’re in Lapland, surrounded by nature, and plastic getting hot in a sauna feels gross. For a three-star hotel, the place overall is great. The buffet food was delicious at every meal and had a good selection. Great location, great staff, and I can’t fault the value for money.
