The heated hallway was especially handy after coming in from the snow, since it dried our boots, coats, and other gear. The little houses are warm and cozy, with a sauna off the bathroom and an open fire you can use. The kitchen has a dishwasher and microwave, and there's everything you need. It's not far from Äkäslompolo center and the supermarket. We'd definitely come back.

A supermarket is within walking distance, and the nature reserve is a little farther on but definitely worth the effort. Such a lovely place to explore a small corner of Lapland, with a cottage that has everything you could wish for!

The hosts were very friendly, and having an open fireplace with firewood was a real plus. The WiFi was good. The cottage felt a bit cramped for four, with little cupboard space and no drying cabinet. They'd put an electric radiator inside the standard hallway cupboard instead, and I wonder if that's allowed under the regulations. There's a washing machine shared with the other cottages. The TV is really small, though who comes here to watch TV? :-) Nestori cottage sits right by a busy village road, and passing plow trucks can wake you up at night.
