Original Sokos Hotel Vaakuna

I've spent more than 20 days at the hotel in 2025, and things have got worse. Breakfast has less choice now: practically just 1 or 2 teas, no fresh juice, and the ginger shots are gone too. When there is a selection, it's been exactly the same all year. Restaurant service is usually very slow, and one person is rude every time. The rest of the staff are generally respectful.

I arrived at 2:30 in the morning on a very cold winter day, and the sauna and jacuzzi felt wonderful. There's a gym available too. The staff were so friendly that I felt great at this Hotel. If I come back to town, I'll definitely choose it again.

The hotel was quiet and clean, and I really liked the room. Service was quick and friendly. The location was fine, though not right in the centre.

The room was spacious enough, with a nice style, the basic amenities, and a comfortable bed. It's a familiar chain, Sokos, and felt as good as most of their other places. The shared sauna and "spa" are free to use. Breakfast was tasty but nothing special, while dinner had a good selection of dishes and menus, all very tasty. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout. The soundproofing could be better: we heard a dog barking through the wall or floor, and the toilet door lock was broken.
