Best Western Hotel Atlas Kuopio

We came as a group of 20 and the check-in went fine, though the entrance is a little confusing. It looks like the hallway of a residential building, then you pass through to the small front desk, which is basically part of the bar. At check-out things moved quickly, but around 15:00-17:00 the wait can be much too long since the same person is also serving drinks. There are only two elevators. My room had a terrace, plenty of space, a high ceiling, and room to open a suitcase or sit on the couch. The bathroom was unusual because the bathtub wasn't built in. Showering while standing in it made a loud splash against the metal, and quite a bit of water got outside the tub. The room was soundproofed, and the bed and mattress were good. Breakfast was good, as at most Scandic hotels. The hotel could use renovation.

Right in the middle of the city, so the location was excellent.

The central location was perfect, and there's underground parking. The staff were lovely and helpful, and we got kind, attentive service at the hotel restaurant. The food was very nice too. My friend often stays at Scandic hotels, and for some reason they upgraded our rooms. I didn't even notice the sauna in my room at first, but I had to try it! I'd very much recommend this place.
