Our apartment was spacious and had what we needed, including a private sauna in the bathroom. That was a great Finnish experience. The interior was basic, in the usual Finnish style, but clean and functional. Staff made us feel welcome right away, and the service was excellent. Breakfast had lots of choice on the weekend and was a little more limited on weekdays, though still more than enough. We were disappointed by the evening buffet, which lacked variety and options for our teenage children. The à la carte restaurant more than made up for it, with very good food and service. We had a very pleasant stay at Spa Hotel Rauhalahti in Kuopio, and the relaxing atmosphere makes it a great place for families.

We were impressed by our week here over the Christmas holidays. The pool and spa were great, though the shared sauna shower area was poor and had no private space. Staff were extremely friendly and active, and the room and services were in excellent condition. We especially liked the high-quality food, with plenty of options, including traditional Finnish dishes even for us as non-pork eaters. We'd definitely recommend this place to others.

In a charming resort with a beautiful setting, and the staff were friendly, but the rooms need renovation. We had to move rooms because the shower faucet's thermostat didn't help: it was clogged with limescale, so we couldn't get the full range of temperatures, only very hot or slightly less hot water. Breakfast was tasty but lacked variety. Fine for a short stay, though I wouldn't recommend it for a longer visit.

Affordable, especially with the spa option, and a nice place to stop when driving from around Helsinki toward northern Finland. It's rather old, but still tidy and pleasant. Family rooms are available, and the kids like it.

There are lots of activities nearby, and we slept well in the comfortable beds. Our rooms were a bit apart from the main building, though they got pretty hot in summer and only had a fan for cooling. The whole hotel is smoke-free, with fines for smoking on balconies, which made the stay pleasant. The place is a bit retro and could do with some renovation, but it was still okay.
