Forenom Hostel Kuusamo

A good spot to stay for a couple of days.

A very good apartment.

The place is in very poor condition, with areas that haven't been cleaned or maintained. The windows were so dirty we didn't want to open or even touch them, and cobwebs inside and out were a nuisance. Turning on the air conditioning made us ill, which we felt was because its ducts had not been maintained. The drain in the second toilet was so bad we couldn't use it. While doing the dishes, water ran onto the floor and into the structures. I became so sick during our stay that I needed inhalations to open and treat my lungs, and only improved after we moved elsewhere. Our concerns weren't dealt with and we got no replies. We eventually changed accommodation and received no refund, despite the house being in such bad shape. I can't recommend it.

If you have any sensitivity to poor indoor air, I’d avoid this place. I was on a longer holiday with a student budget, and now I’m paying for two accommodations because I couldn't breathe there. Forenom only agreed to settle the matter by offering a place at half the price. On top of that, the household appliances worked poorly, the drains smelled, and many of my contact attempts went unanswered. I can't recommend it.
