Zone Apartments

For me, the location is the main reason to consider coming back, though there are plenty of nearby hotels with the same advantage. The staff member I met was very helpful, and gave me lots of useful information when I asked. The hotel is new, clean, and modern looking, but nearly everything else is very basic: the room, bathroom, facilities, and breakfast. The lobby gets very cold because it has just one set of sliding doors. When they open, cold air blows straight inside. The rooms are cold too, especially on higher floors, because the windows and balcony doors seem poorly insulated by Finnish standards. The bathroom has a pipe rack that looks like it should heat towels, but it doesn’t. There’s also no handheld washing sprayer by the toilet, which is standard in Finnish homes and hotels. A hair dryer is provided, but there are no racks or other equipment for drying wet clothes anywhere in the hotel. That’s awkward for guests coming to ski, especially with kids. The floor heating reaches only a small area outside the bathroom, so drying clothes on the floor is tricky. Internet sockets don’t give a signal, and the room Wi-Fi is weak. The TV cables are left hanging without being routed through anything. In short, it’s a clean, new hotel in a good location with extremely basic facilities.

The breakfast was great, and the whole hotel was very tidy. Beds were soft, the shower was great, and they’d left extra bedding and towels for everyone.

Jeni at reception was really helpful with all my questions. The hotel is in a very good location, and breakfast was okay.

It’s 1 am and I’m lying in bed with music blaring so loudly there’s no way to sleep. We asked them to turn it down, but nothing changed. Worst night ever.
