The breakfast was decent, but the stay didn’t feel worth the price. For what you pay for a three-star hotel, the experience is more like a two-star hostel. The rooms are small, and some have toilets while others don’t. You can hear everything from the other rooms. I’d choose an apartment near the city centre instead, since you get better accommodation for less money.

We stayed three nights, two adults and a child, and won’t be back. On arrival there were only two towels, two pillows, and two quilts for us. After we raised it, they brought just one extra pillow and quilt. There was black mold in the bathroom, and ventilation throughout the room was poor. The worst part was the breakfast. We had told the staff two weeks before arrival, and again on the night we checked in, that our daughter had food allergies and needed something she could eat. They assured us it would be available, but there was nothing, even after I asked the first morning. We were just told they couldn’t get it for us. We had to go buy her breakfast ourselves, which was fine, but we still had to pay for her breakfast three times at Kuusanka.

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, and there was free coffee all day. Breakfast was simple but delicious, with pancakes, porridge, and the usual choices. It’s a small hotel right in the centre of Kuusamo.
