The cottage had everything we needed, and there was plenty of firewood. The wood-heated sauna was just right, as was the temperature indoors. Outside, the forest setting feels wonderfully remote. There’s an opening in the ice with sturdy ladder steps, plus an ice saw to keep it clear. The owners were lovely and very helpful. Just bear in mind that reaching the toilet means going outside, though that’s simply how the place is.

Marjo's cooking and baking were amazing, so book dinner ahead if you can. The cottages were comfortable for a longer stay, well equipped, and had lovely views. Tuomo and Marjo were so kind and arranged everything smoothly, from airport pickup to the husky, snowmobile, and fishing safaris. Best winter holiday ever!

You get a wonderfully secluded place to yourself, surrounded by breathtaking nature. The facilities are very basic, including an outdoor dry toilet, so keep that in mind when booking. Still, I can't imagine a nicer spot to stay. Five stars from me!

The food and activities were great, and the hosts made us feel the warmth of genuine Finnish hospitality. It's in an excellent location, too. We'd highly recommend staying here, and we'll certainly be back.
