The kids really liked the shallow sandy beach and the proper stairs up to the second floor. We stayed in the Sininen Hetki cottage, which had a stunning view from the terrace. Even though the airport is nearby, the few flights weren’t a problem. The downside was the heat during the hot season, since there was no air heat pump. If we holiday in Kuusamo again, this will be the first place I check.

The only snag was that there was too much snow along the shore to walk out onto the ice. Otherwise, the two-floor cottage was spacious and comfortable, with everything we needed, including a sauna and fireplace. Snow was cleared whenever it fell, and there was a heating pole for the car.

The nearby airport is noticeable, though flights to Kuusamo aren’t very frequent. We still had a wonderful stay in this cottage in the forest by the lake. The views were lovely, the air was crystal clear, and the water was wonderful. There’s a barbecue hut, and the house has what you need for a great vacation, plus fast free Wi-Fi and a nice sauna with a roomy shower.

A peaceful spot with lovely scenery, and a good place to get out with the dogs. The cottage was well equipped, though the sofa and bed linens could do with updating. I’d come back.

The lake view was beautiful, and the location worked perfectly for us. Inside, the cottage was clean and cozy, with everything we needed.
