We stayed in one of the private cabins for five days, and it was exactly what we wanted. The place felt very private, was easy to find on Google Maps, and the internet worked well. The people running it were friendly, and we were warm inside even when temperatures ranged from -10 to -3. The wood-fired sauna was lovely, with a good shower room and heated floor. It was just a ten-second walk to the lake for a cold plunge, and we could see fish in the water. We grilled by the lake each night, and there was an open fireplace beside the sofa bed. I brought a good-quality mattress topper, which saved my back. The one supplied might have been a bit rough for me. It's near a small ski resort and walking trails, and the lake looked like a perfect place to watch the northern lights if the skies were clear. I used quite a bit of their dry firewood, and they charged only 10 euros a day, which I was very happy with. We drove from Norway and stayed in the third week of December. It was a great experience all around. We hope to come earlier next year for a better chance of seeing the northern lights. Thanks to the owners, and I'd highly recommend it!

Judith made my trip from Utah feel unforgettable. She was warm, thoughtful and attentive, and by the time I left, Finland felt like a new home. The Taiga School Eco Hotel has a quiet, powerful atmosphere that you can sense as soon as you arrive. It felt less like somewhere I was staying and more like somewhere I belonged. I'll definitely be back.

We stayed in the little hut beside the lake, which was so cozy and peaceful. The hosts were kind and very helpful. If you're hoping to see the aurora, it's just a short walk to the lake, where it's completely dark and you can see the night sky without any lights. I'd recommend this place to anyone :)

The setting between nature and the nearby cities suited me well, though I can see that location will be a personal preference. This hotel is a good option if you want to step away from busy city life and reconnect with nature. The crew are always glad to welcome you, show you around the many forests, and prepare great, healthy meals for guests.

After hiking the bear trail, we stayed for just one night. The owners had the sauna ready before we arrived and even put together dinner for us at midnight after the hike. Breakfast was really good too. I'd absolutely recommend staying here if you're in the area. Five stars!
