Villa Aurora sits by a large lake, and the house stayed warm and comfortable throughout our lovely winter week. After being out in the cold, we especially enjoyed unwinding in the separate sauna house, with its sitting area, wood stove and lake views. There was a shed where we could keep our snowshoes for hikes, plus a drying cabinet for our ski gear. Since it’s about 15 minutes beyond Ruka’s light pollution, Villa Aurora was also a perfect place to watch the Northern Lights, just as its name hints.

We spent two weeks here as a group of nine and had everything we needed in this beautiful log cabin tucked into the woods, right beside the lake and about 15 minutes from Ruka. It’s very well equipped, and I’d highly recommend it if you want peace and quiet. There’s one rowboat, but you’ll need to arrange your own boats if you want to go fishing. 😁🍻

We were nine, and this lovely chalet was very well equipped. Staying here was a real pleasure.
