Villa Aurora sits by a large lake, and the house stayed warm and comfortable throughout our lovely winter week. After being out in the cold, we especially enjoyed unwinding in the separate sauna house, with its sitting area, wood stove and lake views. There was a shed where we could keep our snowshoes for hikes, plus a drying cabinet for our ski gear. Since it’s about 15 minutes beyond Ruka’s light pollution, Villa Aurora was also a perfect place to watch the Northern Lights, just as its name hints.
