A cozy place with a bit of a northern feel, and I’d happily recommend it. The rooms were clean and the service was there whenever I needed it. I didn’t hear a single train at night, even though the railway station is only about 100 meters away. That location was ideal for me. I could get to the city centre without hauling my suitcases there or paying triple for roughly the same services, and I didn’t need a taxi. Really enjoyed my stay. Good job, guys, I appreciate it.

The room itself was clean and quite nice, and the bathroom had free towels. The whole place was generally clean too. But staying there felt odd. The rooms are thin-walled huts set inside a big hall with shared spaces, so people kept passing right outside our door late into the night. Lights came on and off, and I never felt fully safe or like we had a private room. The common area had a Soviet grandma sort of look, and the people around were hard to distinguish from staff. The staff seemed to be family and friends mostly hanging around, so we had to work things out for ourselves. You get what the pictures show, and we got a room on the spot. That would have been worth 3 or 4 stars to me on its own. But the confusing shared area, lackluster service, thin hut walls, and unknown people milling around brought it down to 2. The location is great, right by the railway tracks, though you can hear trains go by. If you can pay a little more for an ordinary hotel, I’d do that. The hut experience wasn’t worth the money.

I paid the full price but left without staying. The manager, or the woman I assume was the manager, was harsh and really rude. The place felt scary, with animal skins and dark rooms like dungeons. There was garbage downstairs, and the whole house was disgusting. Communication was also a problem: nobody could speak English or Suomi. I absolutely wouldn't recommend it, especially for families with a disabled member. A complete waste of time.

The service was impeccable, and the staff were so friendly. The rooms are gorgeous, though they’re more like indoor shacks, and there are a couple of adorable dogs living here. Probably fine if you’re a little allergic. There’s a community kitchen, and you can walk to Lahti’s centre in just a few minutes. Prices are reasonable. From my experience, this is the best place to stay in Lahti, and a fun one to try if you’re traveling around Finland and need somewhere to sleep.

The huts are comfortable, and you’ve got the basics covered, from showers and a kitchen to a TV and living room. It has a nice atmosphere and decor, and the service was good. The guesthouse is right by the bus and train station, close to the centre, but still feels quiet and private. We had the place to ourselves, so I can’t say for sure, but if other guests are loud, the rooms may not block much sound.
