The place itself was nice and breakfast had plenty of choices, though the breakfast and pool areas both got crowded. The pool has lots of space, but it felt a little dark, especially on the stairs up to the water slides. I liked the bowling alley, but it was full when we went. Check-in took too long, and even with more terminals there were only one or two people handling the line. The room setup was uncomfortable when friends were around because the toilet doors are sliding doors that don’t close fully. In room 1313, you can see inside through the glass. I also noticed beer cans along the way to my room; they were still there the next day when I checked out. When I went to the Rkioski at night in shorts, some hotel staff gave us strange looks. Still, for what I paid, I was happy with my stay.

Breakfast became a big crowd with nowhere to sit if you didn’t go right at 7, so get there early if having a seat matters to you. Also, the kettle in the room came without coffee or tea, and the spa hotel only supplied hand soap, no shampoo or conditioner. Bring your own.

The location was good, but the spa pools were a letdown. The water was cold, the jacuzzi didn’t really feel like one, and the pool was packed. Breakfast had limited choices too, and the crowded room didn’t seem well managed. Trying the different saunas and the gym cost extra, so our stay at Holiday Club Saima Rauha wasn’t a great experience.

I especially enjoyed the whack-a-mole game, and there were lots of other fun facilities to spend the day with. The accommodation was clean and peaceful, so I got a comfortable rest. I had a great time and would come back.

The room in the castle building was spacious, but the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned properly and the place generally felt cheap. Check-in was a one-hour wait, with just one or two people dealing with the queue even though more terminals were there. Breakfast was okay, but there wasn’t much to choose from. I don’t think we’ll want to come back.
