We came for two nights in a standard room. The beds and sheets were clean and comfortable, but the room itself had visible damage in a lot of places, and it didn’t look as good as the photos had led us to expect. It was cold, so we used the towel warmers to heat it up. We also had to push the beds together, and two bright lights shone straight through the window at night. I enjoyed the spa and especially the shower world. There were regular and infrared saunas, though the jacuzzis could have been warmer.

The spa is a great place to visit with kids, and the services are easy to get to. We had a room at the quieter end of the building for a family weekend. It was a little worn, but fine for our stay. There’s also a venue for gigs that you can reach indoors.

The shower world was the letdown. Several showers were broken, and even giving it the benefit of the doubt, it felt dull. The sauna area was warm and good, with showers nearby for cooling off. The spa itself was okay, with a few basic pools, a jacuzzi, a cold plunge and a big pool for kids and activities, plus a slide. There are two saunas and a few different pools to pick from. Check the site or ask whether maintenance is happening before you go.

We found the jacuzzi and the so-called "pampering spa" colder than the biggest pool, which was puzzling. This still feels like Finland's coldest spa, even though the supposed energy crisis is long past. Looks like we’ll have to make the few-hour trip to Ikaalinen again.

I was here for a conference and found it very peaceful. The rooms were quiet, and the gym was amazing. The lake water looked dark but was very clean, and at 15 degrees it felt refreshing.
