We stayed in the "Meri" apartment for two nights with our dog. The kitchen had what we needed to make food and coffee, and the beds were comfy. It was a peaceful, beautiful spot, just as picturesque in person as it looks. We'd stay again if we're in the area.

The owner is wonderful, and Rauhanlaakso really felt like a home away from home during the month and a half I spent there in summer 2022. It was beautiful and well kept, with a sauna, laundry room, small "grill house," and downtown close by. The price was right too, and I felt so special. I started out in a room with a bunk bed and a twin bed, a small fully equipped kitchen, and a shower. Later, she moved me upstairs to a bigger place that felt like an apartment, with its own balcony, a huge living room, a kitchen, and one bedroom. Everything about the place is lovely. I'd highly recommend it for a weekend or a longer stay.

It was a treat to have a private balcony terrace, and the courtyard is beautiful. This clean, cozy self-catering guesthouse sits in a quiet spot in a historic building. I wish there were more little hidden gems like this for domestic travelers. Highly recommend.
