Hotel Amandis

The courtyard was cluttered and didn't feel very welcoming, and there were dogs barking. Check-in took a long time at the restaurant cashier.

The staff were lovely during our stay, even though they were very busy during terrace opening hours. Service was friendly and quick. The location by the harbour is really good, and you can park in the courtyard. The noisy air conditioner was a problem. It made a lot of noise but barely cooled the room, which was stiflingly hot day and night when it was over 24 degrees outside. I know the staff can't control that, but I'd urge the owner to invest in proper cooling as soon as possible. We'd definitely come back if that were addressed.

The marina is a lively center for events, so you can see and hear what's going on there. Even with music outside and people having fun, it stayed quiet inside the Hotel Amsndis rooms, which was a really nice surprise. The Old Town location is great, close to the sea and marina, and there are cafes with the nice rooms. In my room, the air conditioners were running almost full blast all night. I couldn't turn them off, and it really disrupted my sleep. I think guests should be able to switch them on when needed, but they could be off when someone arrives, since it's not obvious how to turn them off.

The rooms were clean, the service was good, and breakfast was great. The location is great too.
