Naantali City Apartments

We got through a few nights and might return if we needed to, but the apartment details we were given weren't reliable. They said there was no washing machine, though there was one, and a hairdryer was promised but missing. The cleaning also wasn't up to standard. The toilet and bathroom walls looked as if they'd been wiped with a dirty mop, and there was fluff and streaks on the mirrors.

The location worked well for going to the spa, and Naantali's attractions are still an easy walk away. There was plenty of room and the beds were good, but the apartment felt unfinished, with lots of basics missing: a kettle, toaster, hairdryer, iron, coat rack, toilet paper holder, and a bathroom surface to put things on. The mirror cabinet didn't make up for that. There were only two small pegs for towels, and towels without loops kept falling, so our hand towels wound up on the floor. Cooling was the biggest problem. Even in weather that wasn't especially warm, the apartment felt uncomfortably hot. The noisy floor-standing air conditioner didn't cool the bedrooms, so I imagine it would be stifling in hot weather.

The apartment itself was clean and practical, with a well-equipped kitchen, but the bathroom smelled of sewage. Getting to the room from the parking lot was the hardest part. Roadworks were happening right outside, so we had to walk over gravel among construction equipment. The long building has stairs only at one end, and the first staircase is quite steep. It was really difficult with strollers, and neither the building nor the outdoor areas are accessible. I was most disappointed that the booking information didn't mention how narrow the building is or that there'd be road construction out front.

The location beside the spa is handy, and the apartment has the basics. Still, there should be room-specific cooling, and it was uncomfortable having people walk right past the window. The construction site out front wasn't a nice view either. Some basic amenities, including a hairdryer, were missing.
