Wilderness Hotel Nellim & Igloos

The breakfast and dinner buffets were amazing and delicious, and our room was lovely and quite spacious for two. The hotel is right by the lake, so we could walk out onto it for a better view of the northern lights. There’s a small souvenir shop, and they even have sleighs to help you carry your own luggage to the room, which was cute. Activities fill up quickly, so book them ahead. We paid 10€ for the aurora alarm and found it worked well; you can also follow apps and their notifications. The transfer we arranged from the hotel to the airport arrived very late, but since it had been scheduled for three hours before our flight, it wasn’t a problem. We really enjoyed our night at Wilderness Nellim.

The snowmobile tour lasted 4h, and we also went haskis riding, both organised by the hotel. Crossing endless lakes through the stunning Lapland scenery was incredible, and we had a great time on the snowmobiles as well as cuddling and riding the adorable dogs. Warm outfits and all the equipment were provided. Antony, our snowmobile tour guide, was fun and very professional. Best experience of my life, 100/10 for both tours!

We came away with memories that will last a lifetime. The activities were fantastic, and the Northern Lights were incredibly clear and breathtaking. The cabins at Wilderness Nellim are cosy and suit the Arctic setting perfectly. Wilderness Hotel Nellim was an amazing experience, and I’d definitely come back. Highly recommended!

The staff in both catering and activities were fabulous, and when we had a hot water problem in our chalet, they fixed it within half an hour. We had a magical Christmas at this beautiful, remote hotel, doing the four night family arctic Explorer and loving every second. There was a great choice of activities, including husky sled rides and ice fishing. Thoroughly recommended.
