The location at Oulu market square is excellent for a summer visit, with nearby cafes where you can have breakfast in a maritime setting. The hotel itself does not serve breakfast, apart from separately purchased display-case rolls and similar items. Getting into the room early was a plus, and leaving the keys in the room after checking out online through a post link was easy. The lockers for luggage storage were handy, though nobody seemed to monitor them, so even people who weren't staying there could store things for free. This is an affordable, basic hotel that could use some polishing. Staff were helpful, but the disrespectful concept and awkward check-in logic are hard to understand. Check-in was far too complicated and slow, and seemed to make things less efficient for customers. There were no TV channels, although connecting my own phone to the TV to play music worked smoothly. There were some cleanliness and maintenance issues: dirt on the inside of the toilet lid, a sink that didn't clear itself with the water flow, a toilet door that wouldn't stay shut, and a mattress that kept sliding. There was no trash can in the room, and the bathroom bin had no liner, which felt quite unhygienic. We'll come back despite the shortcomings.
