Hotel Kalkstrand

The reception staff member was a very nice guy and able to help if there was a problem. The location is very nice, and the room was clean and big enough. But the curtains aren’t blackout, and there’s no air conditioning. If your room faces the sun in summer, it’ll be very uncomfortable.

Pargas is a small, quiet town with a few restaurants, an old part of the city, and lots of nature. Don’t expect much action. The old city round trip was hard to find, going over what seemed like a lawn and through a small gap between two lilac bushes. The place itself was clean and quiet, with a beautiful view over the archipelago. The pub looked cozy, but we didn’t try it because the prices are steep, as they are everywhere in Finnland. The curtains wouldn’t close all the way, making it hard to sleep during Finnlands short summer night. Breakfast was standard.

The location is great and the view is nice, but the reception was rude and my reservation request for a double bed wasn’t taken into account. I got two singles instead. The interior was a bit dirty, and the rooms felt stuffy and outdated. Breakfast was barely passable. If there were other hotels to choose from, I wouldn’t say this was worth the money.

It’s definitely not modern, and the rooms are very old. Maybe consider it as a last option if there aren’t any other good hotels around.
