The staff were the best part of our stay. Coach Joni, Peter, Markus, Joonathan and the others whose names I didn’t catch were kind and helpful, especially ski patrol officer Markus, who kindly took us back up to the hotel after we returned our rental gear. Without his help, we’d have faced another long, difficult walk. Their kindness is why I didn’t give the place one star. We stayed at Pyhalinna. The apartment was decent and had a good range of convenient facilities, but the bed sheets were dirty when we arrived. After we reported it, someone came to do a light clean, despite our being told that mid-stay cleaning cost extra. The sheets still weren’t changed. Getting around was frustrating, especially for beginners without a car. It took about 30 minutes to walk down to the base area to rent equipment, and the pedestrian route felt unsafe. The so-called family slope wasn’t fully open, and its upper section was surprisingly steep, which wasn’t what we expected from a family-friendly run. Returning rental equipment was a hassle too, since you had to ski all the way to the bottom; the shop on the mountain wouldn’t take returns. The property is described as ski-in/ski-out and sits next to the “family slope,” but these practical issues need attention. I hope the resort can learn from more established ski destinations and make things safer and easier for beginners.

We had a fantastic room with an incredible view, and the bed was super comfortable. Having our own private sauna that heated up quickly was great, and we could ski right to the door. The service was really friendly, and we got fresh towels every day. My only small suggestion is to stock some basic salt and pepper in the fully equipped kitchen. We’ll be back! 🙌

A really nice, roomy apartment with a sauna. It had a fridge, dryer, oven with microwave, hob, kettle, toaster and dishwasher, plus plenty of useful cooking utensils. We stayed half board, and the food was okay.

We stayed warm the whole time, and after a day on the slopes the large bathroom’s amazing shower and private sauna were a real treat. The apartment was easily the best we’ve stayed in so far. There were two twin beds and a sofa, though we never used it, so I’m not sure if it was a sofa bed. The wardrobe space was limited but enough for the three of us since we pack light. There’s a small but functional kitchen, with some of the clearest appliance instructions we’ve seen. The smart TV and Blu-ray player were there, and we connected a laptop to the TV for streaming even though we could have streamed directly on it. Our ski and snowboard locker was close by, and we were right next to the green family slope, with a run leading to the main area and an easy ski park for practicing tricks. The main door uses a passcode, so there’s no key to carry. Loved the place, highly recommend it!

A lovely little studio right by the ski slopes. I’ll definitely come back.
