We found the welcome friendly and the building itself is an attractive old one. The apartment was warm, clean and spacious, with free parking and a kitchen where we could cook. It’s a short walk to Old Town and the cathedral. Much better than a hotel, and we met interesting people too.

There’s a shared kitchen with a stove, oven, microwave, fridge, cookware, dishes and cutlery. The women’s and men’s toilets and separate showers are along the corridor. Rooms are plain and minimal but tidy, with a TV in each. You’ll need to bring your own sheets or use a sleeping bag, though pillows and blankets are provided. The hostel is an idyllic old wooden house near the public indoor swimming pool. It’s about a 15-minute walk from the bus station. It isn’t open in winter, but there’s still a winter photo here.

It was interesting to hear about the place’s history and see the monument to Alva Forsius. The room was spacious, with a nice kitchen and bathroom, and the center and Old Town weren’t far away.
