Budget Hotel Raahe

The staff were kind and helpful, though they came across as rather unprofessional. Breakfast was okay, but the restaurant had little variety. We ordered hamburgers at the bar and were mistakenly given cheap Mirelite fried chicken with salad instead. The bar, restaurant and reception all shut at 5 p.m. There is a guest kitchen with a fridge, and you can cook for yourself. Laundry facilities let you wash and dry clothes. Those are useful, but the whole place needs refurbishing. The rooms and furniture are old, poorly equipped, have no air conditioning, and the walls are so thin you can hear everything next door. It's not cheap either. All in all, not a good stay.

I love this hotel for its old-fashioned character and the history it seems to carry. So many hotels nowadays feel sterile, almost like hospitals, since that kind of architecture took over. Budget hotel Rahe still feels like a real hotel for people who enjoy that older style, and it's hard to find places like it.

The hotel is old, and breakfast is exactly the same every morning, unless something happens to be missing. It's also strange that the owner comes into your room once a week with his own keys to look for something. 🤔

The staff are really nice, and breakfast was good. The rooms have been updated, so they're clean and comfortable, even though the rest of the place feels stuck in the 70s. Good value for the money.
