A decent place to stop for one night while heading south, though I wouldn’t strongly recommend it. The cottage was 47 EUR, compared with 35 EUR for a campervan, but oddly it was much farther from the lakeside than the campervan parking. The final 3 km are unpaved, and the location differs from Google Maps, so watch for the signs. The cottage has basic amenities, including a fridge and microwave, plus disposable cups, but no kettle or cutlery. Bring your own linen or pay to rent it. The nearby simple service building needs better upkeep: the sink wasn’t working. The shower worked, but the water pressure and temperature were unstable, and the bathroom had no heating. There’s a free sauna for about an hour in the evening, but it looked so crowded that we skipped it. There were quite a lot of mosquitoes, even though the nights were cold.

It’s quiet by the lake, the staff are friendly, and there’s a good play area for kids. But our stay was quite unpleasant because of several problems. The cottages were surrounded by overgrown grass, and in summer there are millions of mosquitoes. With two kids, that was miserable, and the cottages got very hot. We couldn’t open the doors to air them out because of the mosquitoes. The cottages we booked only had a shared stove outside. The water wasn’t working, and water was only available from the toilet. There were no pans or spoons, and we would have brought our own if we’d been told. The nearest shop is 25 km away. There were no bed sheets or pillowcases either, and that wasn’t mentioned. Luckily, we had some sheets with us. They asked for 10 euros per person per day to provide them. We stayed five days with six people, and to me that’s ridiculous.

We had a confirmed booking, but when we arrived our room had already been given to someone else. The owner simply refused to accommodate us. It was disgraceful, and we’ll never visit again. These kinds of cottages shouldn’t exist. They’re like something from the Stone Age.
