Luxury here means quiet, time to yourself, and enjoying the lakes, woods, trees, and northern lights at night. You get firewood and fresh water from the well, plus a traditional Finnish sauna. The cabins and rooms don’t have ordinary showers, but experiencing the Lapish sauna routine is quite something. Alexa’s place is perfect if you want to feel at home as soon as you arrive and meet genuine local people.

The lake at Metsä Kolo is gorgeous, and you can swim or head out on it by kayak or SUP. The traditional Finnish sauna is there whenever you want to use it, which is amazing. The little cabins are well equipped and sooooo cozy, with a really comfy bed. Metsä Kolo is a hidden gem in the middle of Laplands beautiful nature 🇫🇮🌲🌳. Our host Alexa was so kind and friendly, and we had a wonderful time there with her. We highly recommend it for an unforgettable holiday, and we’ll definitely be back 😍.

Traditional wooden cabins fitted out to a high standard, in a beautiful spot in the woods with gorgeous lake views. If you want to be away from the crowds and get personal, individual attention, this is just the place.

I loved this peaceful lakeside spot in summer, autumn, and even with snow on the ground. Alexandra is a wonderful host. She looks after her guests, shows them around, shares the culture, and is always there if you have a question or concern. Staying in a mökki (Finnish cottage) by the lake, with an outhouse and a sauna for washing, was a unique way to experience this Finnish tradition. I’ll definitely stay here again.
