The staff were always friendly and helpful, and there’s plenty to do nearby in old Rauma, with lots of shops and restaurants. The rooms were okay, but the beds felt very different from what I’m used to as an American, and I struggled to sleep. The shower is over the toilet, which surprised me, but it worked and I managed not to make a mess. Since it’s in the old town, I’d hoped the exterior would look more like the other older buildings. Instead, it has more of an American 70s art deco style.

The breakfast is fabulous, with fresh fruit and berries, freshly baked bread, vegan choices, plenty of good cereals, cooked meats, and porridge. The location right in the town center is great. Rooms are clean and nice, though a little small.

For summer, I’d have liked lighter bedding, and air conditioning would be a welcome addition these days. Aside from that, it was very comfortable, with clean, comfortable rooms and a nice breakfast. A wonderful small hotel in the center of old Rauma.

There’s lots of free parking around, plus a nice little indoor play corner for kids. The service was friendly and helpful, and breakfast was solid with no surprises. A good three-star hotel, in an excellent spot right where the old town begins.

The website gives a misleading impression. For €170 a night, this was too expensive for what we got. The room was grubby and shabby, the shower was very small and dirty, and there was no ventilation. The beds hadn’t been made. Our room was on the first floor, and there was no elevator. We wanted Eileen Gray design, but what we got was Ikea.
