The rooms were pretty good and had what I needed, without extras. The outlet for my laptop was tucked away, but the one for my CPAP was easy to reach, which was a big plus. I had to work out that late check-in was handled at the bar next door. A sign showing where the elevator is would help, since I got a little lost. The service felt Finnish, people don't get in your way, and I like that. The woman said breakfast was at 9, though I think she meant it ended then. The paperwork made that clear, so it was fine.

A few staff members were helpful and friendly, but others were rude and didn't seem to know the small town well. They sent us across town to an Apteekki, even though there was one just up the street. Breakfast was decent, but the coffee was unbelievably bad. The dated rooms didn't bother me much, even if it looks like nothing has been renovated in 30+ years. What made our summer stay hard was the top-floor room with no AC, only a fan, and poor ventilation. It was around 15 at night, and even with the fan on and the windows open, the street noise kept me awake. I slept maybe an hour. This place could be charming, but our room needed more to be comfortable.

The restaurant felt modern and clean, and breakfast was worth four stars. It was also very quiet overnight, so we slept well. Hot water and a nice shower helped, though the room itself wasn't especially comfortable. There was some likely moisture damage to the floor, and one bed was very soft with some broken strings. Hotell Seurahuone was a friendly place for a one-night stay.

The service was good, though communicating in English at the bar was a struggle, despite the bartender's commendable effort to understand. Breakfast was basic but enough. The place was decent, just not exciting. At this price, it felt strange that the rooms had no AC or minibar in this day and age.
