Hostel Ibedcity

The sauna was a lovely surprise after a day out exploring, and having it as part of a hostel stay felt like a real treat. I also found the price very good for the comfort and service. The rooms and shared areas were clean, tidy, and well cared for. From the start, the host was warm and helpful, making a real effort to help everyone feel at home. I had a great experience here and would happily recommend it.

I only had one night here, and wished I could have stayed longer just to spend more time with the lovely staff and other guests. The bed was comfortable, and the room was warm and clean. I usually avoid hostels where bathrooms are inside the rooms because late night showers can be noisy, but here the showers and washrooms are outside, with several around, so waiting was rarely an issue. The hostel also offers a sauna, winter clothes and boots for rent, and safari bookings. A grocery store with everything I needed was about a ten-minute walk away. It was also fairly close to the airport and Santa Claus Village. I heard the sauna is nice, though I didn't try it. I had a very good stay and recommend the place.

I arrived at 9 in the morning and was lucky that my bed was ready, so they let me check in early. I was only staying one night, and the clear sky meant I could see the northern lights after walking just 5-10 minutes from the hostel. No tour booking needed. I also got to try a Finnish sauna at a hostel for the first time, and it was only 5€ per person. The hostel is within walking distance of Santa Claus Village and Rovaniemi airport, and the location is good for northern lights viewing. I'd recommend it.

The hostel sauna is worth booking, I enjoyed it. If you don't mind walking, Santa's Village and the airport are both less than an hour away on foot. A good base for a Rovaniemi visit and a polar experience.
