The sauna and jacuzzi made our evenings especially nice, and the karaoke machine gave us some unforgettable singalong moments. Our host was warm, helpful with questions, and full of good local tips, so we felt welcome throughout our four days. The cabin had all we needed, including a fully equipped kitchen and cozy living areas. It’s set beside a peaceful lake, a beautiful spot for a relaxing break. We also had an exciting time looking for the Aurora, and the final view of that natural wonder was magnificent. Such a fun, memorable stay in Rovaniemi. Thanks to our host for making it so enjoyable.

The fireplace made the place feel so comfortable, and we liked unwinding in the sauna in the evenings. The winter view was wonderful, and it’s just as lovely in summer. My fiancée and I really enjoyed the quiet and seclusion. One of the most beautiful vacations we’ve had together.

Miika, who owns the cabin, was so friendly and hospitable. It’s a beautiful spot in the woods, right by a quiet lake, with a sauna, and a great place to get away from civilization for a while. I’d highly recommend it. I’m already looking forward to coming back and seeing it in winter.

The grill hut was such a great addition, and the lake is just a few steps away. We watched the north-east sky for aurora there. I’d say the aurora hunt tours offered in Rovaniemi should be happening here, since I can’t imagine finding a better spot. Get an aurora tracking app, hang around, and grill while you wait. Miika was a gracious host who gave us useful recommendations and help when we needed it, while still leaving us the quiet and space we wanted. This place also sounds like it would make a lovely summer vacation, based on what Miika told us, and we’d definitely like to return then. We spent an amazing week here, going back and forth to Rovaniemi for shopping and activities like Santa’s Village. Ranua Zoo made a nice day trip too. It closes around 16:30, so allow at least 2.5h. The house and its surroundings are wonderful, a real piece of lapland that can bring you back to yourself. Don’t miss a dip in the jacuzzi. Even with -17 outside, you won’t feel cold. Get the sauna ready first, which is a nice option once the jacuzzi cools down.
