Villa Lumikko

A car is a must here, and the nearest supermarket is about 10km away, so expect a quiet and fairly remote stay. That peaceful, beautiful setting was just right for hiking and seeing the northern lights. We spent a week in the villa and had no complaints about the place, its location, or the host. The nearby Arctic Snow Hotel is impressive too, with its bar, restaurants, and rooms made entirely of snow and ice.

The lake view and private beach were lovely, and the setting is beautiful. I especially liked being in the spa at midnight while snow was falling, and the sauna was great as well. We even watched reindeer grazing just outside the back window. The host was great, and the place had everything we could want and more. I’d happily return to see the Northern lights again, and highly recommend it.

We stayed four nights in February 2019, and this is still our favourite place so far. Everything felt five star, the hosts were amazing, and we saw incredible northern lights right overhead.

We were surrounded by lakes and forest, and the accommodation was spotless. The beds were really comfortable, and the host was friendly and helpful. It had just about everything we could think of: a dishwasher, iron, toaster, microwave, two bathrooms, a sauna with its own separate shower, jacuzzi, and laundry dryer. Such a cozy, beautiful place to stay. Highly recommend it.
