The accommodation was fabulous, but it sleeps up to six with just one toilet. The sauna wouldn't turn on, and the front door's keycode didn't work. They sorted both out fairly quickly, though it was annoying and delayed our evening plans.

The place was completely below par for what it cost, and I really can't recommend it. The owner didn't seem to care about the cottage's condition even after we complained. It was dirty, including the bedding, and there were cobwebs on the walls. A moldy smell clung to our clothes. Almost everything was broken, from the fireplace doors and faucets to the cupboard doors. Even one star is too generous.

The giant donuts are worth mentioning. It's a basic café and restaurant that also sells souvenirs and local goods. Prices are touristy.

A roomy, simple cabin right at the foot of Ruka's western slopes, in a good spot. It's a pleasant place in summer too, and reindeer hang around the yard.

A practical cottage in a good location, and very good value for money.
